Day 1– Depart to Europe Depart on an overnight flight(s) from USA to Geneva.
Day 2 – Montreux Upon arrival in Geneva, transfer to your Montreux hotel. Enjoy the lovely area of Montreux, which sits at the eastern edge of Lake Geneva surrounded by the Swiss and French mountains. Performance at Montreux Jazz Festival pending acceptance. After breakfast at the hotel, the morning is free to explore Montreux. Take an opportunity to visit the Castle of Chillon or take a boat ride on Lake Lemon. Day 3 – Lake Como After breakfast, travel to Lake Como, Europe’s deepest lake. European writers, artists and composers ‘discovered’ the region in the 19th century, as it drips of charm and romance. Time to explore the city or take a boat ride. Performance at the Summer music nights on the lake.
Day 4 – Florence After an early breakfast and departure, travel through Tuscany to Florence. Florence is the capital city of Tuscany and is the most populous city in the region. After checking into the hotel, enjoy a short walking tour of the city, highlighted by admission into the Accademia to see Michelangelo’s “David”. David is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture sculpted by Michelangelo from 1501 to 1504. Concert at local Florence venue.
Day 5 – Florence The morning and afternoon is available for shopping and sight-seeing. Florence is home to some of the greatest Renaissance art and architecture in the world. Performance at the Valdarno Jazz Festival.
Day 6 – Perugia After breakfast at hotel, travel to the scenic Umbria region. Performers will check in with the festival organizers. Umbria Jazz Festival takes place at over 10 venues throughout this Italian Medieval town. Performance at the Umbria Jazz Festival pending acceptance.
Day 7 – Perugia Breakfast will be served at the hotel and the day is free to explore the town of Perugia. Perugia is the capital city of the Umbria region, in central Italy near the Tiber river. The city symbol is the griffin, which can be seen in the form of plaques and statues on buildings around the city. Performance at the Umbria Jazz festival.
Day 8 – Verteribo Travel south to Verteribo and in the evening and participate in the Tuscia Jazz Festival in this ancient village.
Day 9 – Rome After breakfast, travel south to Rome. After a check in to the hotel, enjoy a sight-seeing tour of Roman sites. Rome is Italy’s largest and most populous city. Its history as a city spans over two and a half thousand years as one of the founding cities of Western Civilization.
Day 10 – Rome After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a free day to visit the Vatican, St. Peters Cathedral, Coliseum, Roman Forum and the beautiful fountains scattered throughout the seven hills of Rome. Take chance to see the city after sunset—Rome’s ancient landmarks are well lit and just as magnificent when viewed at night.
Day 11 – Depart for U.S. After an early breakfast at the hotel, depart for Rome Airport and your return flight home.
